Grateful #5 – He Knows Me and Is With Me

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”— Jeremiah 29:11

I’ll be honest — yesterday was a hard day. I found out my surgery scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled because my doctor is sick, and I don’t even have a new date yet. On top of that, there’s a pending nurses’ strike that could affect my care. It felt like the ground shifted a little under my feet, and I was disappointed. I had prepared myself for this step… and now I’m waiting again.

Are you walking through something hard right now? Maybe life feels a little uncertain… or the plans you thought were in place have suddenly changed. I get it — I’m right there too.

But in the middle of that disappointment, God gently reminded me of this truth: He knows me. He loves me. And He is with me.

A few weeks ago, I sensed God preparing me, letting me know that things might get a little foggy for a while — that unexpected things might happen — but that He would still be right there with me. At the time, I thought He was preparing me for recovery. Now I see that this is the foggy part — the waiting, the unknown. And even here, His presence is steady and sure.

Friend, if you’re facing something hard right now, hold this verse close: God’s plans for you are good. They aren’t thrown off course by delays, detours, or disappointments.

His purpose for your life hasn’t changed — and He promises a future and a hope.

I’m choosing gratitude today — not because everything is easy or clear, but because I know the One who holds my future.
