Riding Into a Quieter Season

Today is Ash Wednesday.

And this year, I am choosing something simple.

Something intentional.

Something quiet.

For this Lenten season, I am fasting from social media.

Not completely disappearing… I will still share when a new blog post is up. But the scrolling, the constant checking, the “just a quick peek” that somehow turns into ten minutes… I am setting it down for a while.

And I will be honest.

I truly hope I remember that I am fasting. 😊

It has become such a habit in between projects to pick up my phone and scroll without even thinking. Paint a little. Scroll a little. Write a paragraph. Scroll a little. I may need to gently remind myself more than once that this is intentional.

So yes… I will be praying that I remember.

This little painting I created feels like my heart right now.

A girl on a bicycle.

Moving forward.

Scarf catching the wind.

A basket full of soft blooms.

She is not racing.

She is not performing.

She is simply riding.

That is what I want this season to look like.

Less noise.

More listening.

Less reacting.

More abiding.

“Abide in me, and I in you…” – John 15:4

Lent is an invitation to slow down and remember. To remember who we are. To remember whose we are. To remember that dust and grace can exist in the same breath.

My word this year is Abide.

And I am learning that abiding sometimes means stepping away from the crowd and into the quiet.

If you need me, I’ll be here. Writing. Painting. Praying. Healing. And occasionally catching myself reaching for my phone and laughing. 😊

My PRAYER right now...

Lord, help me abide… and help me remember I’m abiding.

Let’s ride into this season gently. 🚴🏻‍♂️

With love,Pam 🌿
