Riding the Waves with Joy

Sometimes life feels like we’re just bobbing along in a tiny boat—waves swirling around us, the horizon hidden by clouds. Waiting for answers. Waiting for healing. Waiting for the next step.

That’s where I find myself these days—still waiting on a surgery date. Some days the waiting feels heavy, but then I remember: joy is not about circumstances. Joy is a choice.

When I opened up Philippians this week, I landed right on the reminder my heart needed:

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” – Philippians 4:4 - (THANK YOU to the Crossroads 21 days of prayer!)

Paul didn’t write those words from a beach chair under an umbrella—he was in prison!

And yet, he could say always rejoice. That stops me in my tracks.

So today, instead of focusing on what I don’t know, I’m choosing to ride the waves with joy. I’m reminding myself that God is still in control, still good, and still writing my story.

I am ALL IN for the ride—the ups, the downs, and all the swells in between—because I KNOW He has me.

And maybe you’re in a waiting season too—longing for something to shift, praying for the waves to calm.

Can I remind you (and me) that joy is still possible right here, right now?

We can rejoice even in the waiting, because we’re not alone in the boat.

Friend, take heart today. The One who calms the seas is holding you steady. Rejoice. And when you forget—rejoice again.

LOVE YA!

Pam

I loved reading your blog Pam. It really spoke to me since I am in a waiting season too, waiting for our son to come back to the family and the Lord. You are such an inspiration to me having such joy with all you are going through. Thank you for reminding us that He is definitely in the boat with us. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Continued prayers for complete healing. 🙏🏻
