Becoming
Becoming

There’s something quietly holy about the “in-between.”

The caterpillar and the butterfly rarely get to meet. But in this image—this moment—they do.

And what a beautiful reminder: God sees every part of our process, not just the final result.

So often, we want the wings—the breakthrough, the joy, the vibrant transformation. But before the butterfly, there is the slow crawl of the caterpillar… and then, the stillness of the cocoon.

A hidden place. A quiet place. A waiting place.

God does some of His deepest work there.

🖌️ When Words and Art Collide

I’ve always felt that God speaks to me through images—through art and photos. There’s something about light and texture and color that stirs something deep in me, something that words alone can’t quite capture. I love the story that images portray. A single photo or painting can hold emotion, truth, and beauty that speaks straight to the soul—without saying a word.

A few years ago, I went to a Christian book writing conference, and it sparked something in my heart. I knew God was calling me to write. But it felt overwhelming.

I was slow to start—afraid, unsure, and maybe still tucked in a cocoon of self-doubt.

But God was patient. He gave me space to play… to create art, to take photos, to just delight in beauty without pressure. And over time, I started realizing—those very pieces I was making? They were speaking. They were telling stories my heart had been carrying. They were the bridge between my art and my voice.

Sharing them with the world has been one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. I still feel vulnerable every time I hit “post.” But I also feel… alive. Like I’m finally blooming. And somehow, I think the world is beginning to see who I really am. Not just the polished version—but the full story. The one God’s been writing all along.

📖 Scripture to Reflect On:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”— 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”— Philippians 1:6

✍️ Journal Prompts:

1. What part of your journey feels like the "caterpillar stage" right now?

Are you feeling slow, unseen, or uncertain? Write about it honestly.

2. Where in your life do you feel like you're in a “cocoon”?

A waiting place, a transformation space? What might God be doing there, even if you can't see it?

3. Think about a time when God brought you through a season of change.

What did you learn? How did you grow?

4. If you could speak to your younger self—your caterpillar self—what would you say?Write a message of hope and encouragement from your heart today.

5. What “wings” are you praying for right now?

List your dreams and desires—and offer them back to God in trust.

🦋 Remember, transformation is a process. You are not stuck… you are becoming. And the God who made the butterfly is lovingly, patiently, creatively working in you too.
