Peace in the Unexpected

I thought I just needed new glasses…
I called the eye doctor expecting to set up a simple appointment. But the nurse on the phone asked a series of questions—then gently said, “I need you to get to the emergency room. Now.”
I listened. And I’m so glad I did.
After a full day in the ER, a CT scan, an MRI, and an unexpected appointment with a neurosurgeon… I was told that I have a brain tumor.
Yes, I’m still in shock.
But I’m also in peace.
The doctor doesn’t think it’s cancer, and I’m beyond grateful for that. More tests will come, more waiting, more unknowns. But I’m not walking this alone.
That sweet nurse, the compassionate ER team, the people God placed around me that day—every one of them was a gift. And I felt His presence through them.
I’ve always said that I trust God in all things. And now I get to live that out in a brand new way.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”—Isaiah 26:3
I don’t have all the answers yet. I’m still processing. But I’m not afraid. Truly, I’m not.
I have peace because I know who holds me. And that is more than enough.
If you’re going through something unexpected or heavy today, please know—you’re not alone either.
There is a kind of peace that doesn't make sense in the natural… and it's available to every heart that leans into the One who never lets go.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”—Psalm 23:4
Thank you for walking with me. Thank you for praying. And thank you for letting me be real with you.
With so much love,
Pam
